About Us
More than 10 years ago, a young, smiling, sweet Joe Patrick walked into Krypton Comics in Omaha, Nebraska. There he met Matt Baum, the twisted, drug-addled madman that would steal his innocence and lead him down the rabbit hole… To a land of rage, madness, and gay jokes that the two would later smash into a podcast format… And they would talk about comics, too.
Joe and Matt managed Krypton together for six years. During that time, Joe honed his comic knowledge to a razor sharp edge, while Matt spent hours screaming down customers for their opinions and poor taste in creators and storylines. Meanwhile, Joe stood back, calmly correcting Matt’s mistakes and poorly researched arguments.
Today, the two find themselves still working in a comic shop (Legend Comics & Coffee), still in Omaha, and still arguing with each other like a married couple. Only now it’s done in front of microphones for a weekly podcast, so that everyone that they dated, were dumped by, or ever slept with knows: these two are truly Nerds of the First Order. With as many gay, drug, and sex jokes as they (Matt) pack into each episode, it’s painfully obvious just how deep their (Matt’s) neuroses run and how badly they (Matt) need attention. It’s sad really, but at least they found each other, and found a creative outlet for their collective love of men in spandex.
Joe Patrick is currently in animation school and is the Manager of Legend Comics. He is one of the nicest people you will ever meet and truly doesn’t have an evil bone in his body.
Matt Baum works as a chef and drummer, and writes the Comic Speculator blog for Worthpoint.com. He is a jerk that hates himself and takes it out on everyone else.

Hello,
My name is Nick Allen and I work with Visionary Comics out of
Annapolis Maryland.
I’m writing because we are in the midst of production on a graphic
novel featuring the Artwork of Greg Larocque and are currently running
a kickstarter. The project can be found here:
http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/470321830/deadlands-raven-graphic-novel
I was writing to find out if an appearance on your podcast for
co-writer on the series, C. Edward Sellner or a mention on the podcast
would be possible during our campaign. Any form of assistance would
be greatly appreciated.
Cheers,
Nick
Nick,
I don’t think we’re going to be able to arrange an interview anytime soon, but I will do my best to get a mention worked up for our site. I have fond memories of Mr. LaRocque’s work.
Thanks!
Joe
