Rom FamilyTrillium #1 (Vertigo)
Really, if this book was anything less than amazing I would believe I was in a parallel world.  It was amazing. You have to buy this.

Lady Rawhide #1 (Dynamite)
I was completely ready to write a quick “leave it” but this surprised me. The art is excellent! The story isn’t bad at all. Her costume is ridiculous. This is actually worth your time. Depending on how you feel about cheesecake.

Fantastic first issue. I love the deconstruction of super-heroes when it’s done well. Art is great. Interesting premise.

Robocop: The Last Stand #1 (Boom)
This…wasn’t terrible. I wasn’t expecting much, it doesn’t deliver anything shocking but it’s not bad. It feels like a 2000AD comic, at least in style. I don’t know if I feel compelled to pick up the next issue, but I wasn’t disappointed I picked up the first either.

Burn the Orphanage: Born to Lose #1 (Image)
First let me say Sina Grace is a talented creator whose work I have greatly enjoyed in the past. Let me also say the style and concept of this book is interesting and could be entertaining. The execution of this first issue falls short of the mark, it feels halfhearted and incomplete. I was confused as to what the creators were trying to do, it skirted the line between the absurd and dramatic too much, committing to neither fully leaving the issue feeling flat. I will buy issue two in the hopes that it gets better but I can’t recommend that people pick this up.
