Plus, we do a little something different in our Take a Look It’s in a Book segment as we review the 12-issue run of Michel Fiffe’s COPRA.

I had to stop listening after a couple minutes. I’ve apparently reached my limit of how many times I can listen to Matt explain why his problem with casting a black actor in a “white” role is not racial. If you ever find yourself explaining, repeatedly, why something isn’t about race, it is absolutely about race. I mean, how is it OK to change their ages and origin story but not this? That’s a ridiculous double standard.
I really don’t think Matt is a racist, but this hang-up he seems to have on the issue is downright ugly. Matt, do us a favor: If you can’t get over it, at least shut up about it. You lost another listenerd today.
It’s a complicated topic – one that can be hard to discuss without sounding insensitive.
We’re sorry to lose you. I appreciate your honesty and hope you give the show another chance in the future.
— Joe
